Fine Dining in Ubud: Indulge in Exquisite Cuisine with Scenic Views
There is a reason why so many travellers seek out fine dining in Ubud, not merely for dinner, but for an experience that feels deeply meaningful.
In Ubud, everything feels more poetic. Evening light settles softly among tropical trees, while the air carries the delicate scent of earth and foliage. As night falls, the atmosphere becomes increasingly intimate, warm, serene, and quietly romantic.
Amid this tranquil setting, DI SINI DI SANA by Rachman & Sons offers a journey shaped by love, family heritage, and a harmonious dialogue between East and West.
Loro Blonyo: The Inseparable Couple
At the heart of the restaurant lies a story that forms its very foundation: Loro Blonyo, the inseparable couple.
Inspired by a traditional Javanese symbol of eternal partnership and often presented as a wedding gift, Jonathan Rachman reinterpreted this cultural emblem in a deeply personal way. When invited by a London-based hand-painted wallpaper company to design an animal-themed artwork, he transformed his beloved Papi and Mami (parents) into a pair of Ubud monkeys.
Drawing inspiration from the surroundings of the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud, the illustration portrays two primates symbolising his parents’ enduring love, reflecting romance, loyalty, and warmth. In local legend, these monkeys are believed to be descendants of royalty.
“While my parents were not royal consorts, in my heart, they are the truest of royal lovers.”
Set within a whimsical landscape of Balinese greenery, temples, chequered umbrellas, palm trees, and traditional boats, the artwork reflects Jonathan’s childhood memories of watching his parents walk hand in hand, openly expressing affection even as they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Two months later, his father passed away.
At DI SINI DI SANA by Rachman & Sons, Loro Blonyo is more than art. It is a symbol of devotion and the emotional foundation upon which the restaurant stands, a defining element that distinguishes this fine dining experience in Ubud from others.
